CONTEST DESCRIPTION
Goals and Objectives of the Competition
The competition is held to reveal and support talented performers. It provides musicians from different countries with the opportunity to showcase their talent and gain international recognition. The jury consists of leading cultural figures, professors from the Saint Petersburg and Moscow Conservatories, soloists of the Mariinsky Theatre, and members of the Saint Petersburg Academic Philharmonia named after D.D. Shostacovich.
  • Preservation and Promotion of Dmitry Dmitrievich Shostakovich's Legacy;
  • Encouraging professional growth: The competition can serve as a starting point for a successful career, opening new opportunities for the winners;
  • Developing creative potential: Creating conditions for artistic self-realization and cultural development of participants, regardless of their geographic location.
COMPETITION PARTICIPANTS
Who can participate in the competition?
The competition is open to students of music schools, music colleges, and higher education institutions (higher music schools and universities with music departments), as well as private music institutions. Active musicians, soloists of orchestras, and ensembles are also invited to participate.
The competition includes the following age categories:
  • Category I: Ages 9–13
  • Category II: Ages 14–18
  • Category III: Ages 19 and above (no upper age limit)

Stages of the Competition
Participants will submit their video performances via the competition's official website. The jury will evaluate the submissions remotely based on the established criteria, and the results will be shared with participants electronically by email.

Applications will be accepted until March 15, 2025.
The first stage of the competition will be held remotely: participants will submit their video performances via the competition website.
Evaluation of Participants by the Jury (March 16 - March 28)
The jury members of each category will receive the recordings of the competition participants. Based on the evaluation criteria, participants will be assigned points and corresponding titles.
Announcement of Results:
June 1, 2025
After the competition results are announced, each participant will be notified of their final standing and any awards via the email address provided in their application.

Awards and Prizes
Prize Fund
The competition will award cash prizes to the top 10 participants across all categories.
Diplomas for All Participants
Every participant, regardless of the results or awards, will receive an electronic diploma recognizing their participation in the competition.
